Recap on Shamanism and things that my offerings include as well as a little recap on key elements which we'll expand on this coming year.
Shamanism: A Glance at Its History and Foundations
Shamanism, a system of spiritual beliefs and practices that has left a deep mark on human history, dates back to the dawn of civilization. This ancient path to understanding and healing has been embraced by diverse cultures around the world, and its relevance endures to this day.
The Figure of the Shaman
The shaman is the central axis of shamanism. Acting as a bridge between the spirit world and earthly reality, the shaman takes on a vital role as a healer. The core belief lies in your ability to access spiritual dimensions and, through this connection, gain knowledge and energy which is then used to heal individuals and communities.
Communication with the Spiritual World
At the heart of shamanism lies the conviction that a spiritual world coexists with our everyday environment. In this world, live nature spirits, ancestors, totem animals and other mystical entities. Shamans embark on a spiritual journey through practices such as rituals, songs, dances, and altered states of consciousness, such as trance, to establish contact with these spiritual beings.
Community and Unity
Shamanism is often practiced in a community context, where the shaman works collaboratively with the community to promote healing and well-being. Energy healing can be integrated into this context, allowing the community to engage in healing practices and strengthening the sense of unity and mutual support. This community collaboration not only amplifies the power of healing, but also reflects the deep connection that exists between individuals and their environment.
Shamanism: A Testimony to the Universality of Human Experience
One of the most fascinating and revealing characteristics of shamanism is its persistence and similarity in different cultures around the world, despite the vast geographical distances and lack of global communication in ancient times. This astonishing convergence in shamanic practices, and the significant results that were achieved through them in the absence of modern advances in medicine and scientific research, sheds a powerful light on the universality of the human experience and the deep connection we share with the world. spiritual world and nature.
I have always said I pass on teachings of and about World wide shamanism because it is and always has been ours, our global native ways.
The Universality of Shamanic Practices
Throughout history, from the steppes of Mongolia to the jungles of South America, from the Nordic lands to African tribes, shamanism has been practiced in strikingly similar ways. Shamans from different cultures often share common traits in their rituals and techniques: communicating with spirits, entering altered states of consciousness, healing illnesses, and seeking spiritual knowledge. These similarities suggest that there is an underlying truth, a timeless wisdom that humans have independently discovered throughout the world.
The Lack of Modern Medicine and Globalization
In the past, civilizations lived isolated from each other, separated by immense oceans, vast deserts and impassable mountains. The globalization and instant communication we know today were unimaginable in those times. However, despite this geographical disconnection, shamanic practices in different parts of the world shared notable similarities.
What this demonstrates is that the spiritual experiences and healing techniques that shamans developed were, at their core, universal responses to fundamental human needs. Human beings, no matter where they lived, shared the need to understand and mitigate suffering, seek answers to existential questions, and connect with something larger than themselves.
The Universality of Human Experience
Shamanism is a powerful reminder that, beyond the cultural, linguistic and geographical differences that may separate us, we all share a common human experience. We all experience suffering, illness, the search for meaning and connection to the transcendental.
This phenomenon suggests that, deep within our collective psyche, there is ancient knowledge that guides our spiritual and healing quests. Shamanism, as a practice that has stood the test of time and distance, reminds us that our spiritual roots are rooted in an ancient and universal wisdom that transcends cultural and temporal barriers.
Next is a share of some of the elements and practices I use in my shamanic and personal Vama Marga Tantra and Taoist Tantra life.
I continue to pass on Tantra online and there is Shamanism and Tantra in all my art & writing. In the future I will be exploring a little more of each one of these next key points and sharing more audio videos since i still must protect my eyes due to neurological. Which btw after almost needing eye transplants and wrong diagnosis and then finding oyt it was neurological too ...are much better thanks to shamanic practices and plant medicine. All that is on the Home page is what I offer these days so please don't hesitate to reach out.
Energy Healing: Understanding Life Energy
Energy healing is a fascinating discipline deeply rooted in the traditions of different cultures around the world. Its core beliefs and practices are based on the notion that all living beings are imbued with a life force, an energy that permeates both the physical body and the emotional and spiritual aspects of existence. As we explore this topic in greater depth, we discover how energy healing offers a unique perspective on health and well-being, as well as a series of powerful techniques to unlock the potential of this vital energy.
The Concept of Vital Energy
The concept of vital energy, known by different names in various cultures, is a constant in many philosophical and spiritual traditions. For example, in traditional Chinese medicine it is known as "chi", in Hinduism as "prana", in Buddhism as "lung", and in Japan as "ki". Despite linguistic and cultural differences, all these traditions recognize the existence of a vital force that animates living beings and that is in constant interaction with the environment.
Energy Flow and Health
According to the energy healing perspective, health and well-being are intrinsically related to the harmonious and balanced flow of this vital energy through the body. Imagine this energy as a river flowing through invisible channels in the body, known as meridians in Chinese medicine, nadis in Hinduism, and channels in other traditions. When this energy flows unhindered, health and vitality are promoted. However, when it becomes blocked or imbalanced, physical, emotional or mental illnesses can arise.
Energy Healing Techniques
Energy healing, as a discipline encompassing a rich and varied tradition of practices, uses a wide range of techniques to influence the flow of vital energy and promote holistic healing. As we delve deeper into this area, the diversity and richness of these approaches is revealed, each with its own unique philosophy, methods, and benefits. Here, we will explore some of the most common energy healing techniques and their applications.
As I learned the Lakota laying of hands and I would in parallel remember the laying of hands of my grandmother and mother. Very much a practice in the native ways and later used by the Catholics in their rites.
Laying on of Hands
Description: Laying on of hands is a technique in which the healer places his or her hands on or near the patient's body with the intention of channeling healing energy. It is based on the belief that the healer acts as a conduit for the universal energy that flows through them to the patient.
Note: I only offer this in Florida, in my area of course about 90 minutes from central Florida and often times at Kava bars too so do reach out if in the central Florida area or in Fort Lauderdale area as I do travel there as well.
In the Native Acupuncture is used as well, I do not offer this but definitely believe in this because it is what I incorporate in my natural therapies for overcoming Lupus.
Acupuncture
Description: Acupuncture is a technique originating in traditional Chinese medicine in which thin needles are inserted into specific points on the body known as acupuncture points. These points are located on the meridians, which are channels through which life energy is believed to flow.
Application: Acupuncture is used to restore energy balance in the body and relieve a variety of ailments, such as chronic pain, emotional disorders, migraines, and allergies. This technique has gained recognition in conventional medicine as an effective way to complement the treatment of various health conditions.
Polarity Therapy
Description: Polarity Therapy is based on the idea that energy flows along the meridians in a polarized manner, with a positive and negative polarity. Polarity therapists use gentle touch, movement, and breathing to balance and harmonize this energy.
Application: This technique is used to release energy blockages, reduce stress, relieve pain, and promote deep relaxation. It is also used as a self-awareness tool as it can help people identify and release stagnant energy patterns in the body.
These next ones I use in my doula work and online and offline shamanic practices and in the tantric as well as Vama marga tantra is very much about yantras and visualization and these as well.
Creative Visualization
Description: Creative visualization is a technique that involves using the mind to imagine and direct energy. Practitioners can visualize the energy flowing freely through their body or to specific areas that need healing.
Application: This technique is versatile and used in a variety of contexts, from reducing stress to accelerating wound healing. It is also used in combination with other techniques, such as meditation, to amplify its effectiveness.
Vibration Medicine
Description: Vibration medicine is based on the idea that everything in the universe is in constant vibration. Healing techniques that use vibration, such as sound therapy, music therapy, and crystal therapy, seek to harmonize the energetic frequencies of the body.
Application: These techniques are used to relieve stress, promote relaxation, and restore harmony to the body and mind. Sound therapy, for example, uses instruments such as singing bowls or shamanic drums to induce deep states of relaxation and healing.
Meditation and Breathing
Description: Meditation and conscious breathing are techniques that involve mental concentration and regulation of breathing to influence the flow of vital energy. These practices may include mindfulness, chakra meditation, and Zen meditation.
Application: Meditation and breathing are used to calm the mind, reduce stress, promote mental clarity, and improve connection to internal energy. They can also be used to explore and balance the body's energy centers known as chakras.
Reflexology
Description: Reflexology is a technique in which specific pressures are applied to reflex points on the feet, hands or ears to stimulate the flow of energy along the meridians and corresponding organs in the body.
Application: Used to relieve pain, improve circulation, reduce stress and promote relaxation. Reflexology is based on the idea that reflex points in these areas are connected to body systems and organs and that stimulating them can have beneficial effects on the entire body.
These are just a few of the many energy healing techniques available. Each of them offers a unique and valuable perspective on how to address life energy and promote health and well-being. The choice of technique depends on individual needs and preferences, as well as the training and experience of the practitioner. Ultimately, energy healing stands as a testimony to the richness of ancestral and contemporary wisdom that seeks to restore harmony and vitality in the human being.
Integrating Shamanism and Energy Healing
The integration of shamanism and energy healing represents a powerful holistic approach to healing and well-being that transcends the boundaries of individual disciplines. This synergy is not only based on the deep wisdom of these practices, but also interestingly relates to contemporary concepts such as the Law of Attraction, which suggests that our energetic vibrations attract like-minded experiences and situations.
My Grandmother was a shaman and spoke with the dead for contributions, her lineage was of healers and I studied, worked the land and learned to work with the plant energy and beings from seedling to ceremony and later took many courses and certifications on the pharmacology and trauma resolution and integration of the plant medicine in modern life.
As far as tantra I studied under one teacher alone for 7 years and another for three etc. I PHYSICALLY worked with both female and male energy for 6 years as well.
"A shaman was somebody who was trained under a teacher for many, many years. He or she was then in service to the community. They acted sometimes as future tellers, therapist, healers and were valued as a force of community cohesion.
These days it might be easy to take some Amazon "medicine" or maybe doing a workshop to find your totem animal, but that does not make them a shaman."
Same with Tantra
Mainstream Tantra is perhaps sexually liberating on many levels but NOT TRUE TANTRA So please please explore and when you're ready to go deeper find a teacher/guru or program that can offer you the best of what you personally resonate with and not a greedy hogwash pit.
