A dakini (Sanskrit: डाकिनी; Tibetan: མཁའ་འགྲོ་མ་) is a type of sacred female spirit in both Vajrayana Buddhism and Hinduism. In Vajrayana Buddhism the term is often wisdom dakini. The term can also be applied to human women with a certain amount of spiritual development. The Sanskrit term is related to diyate - to fly. The Tibetan term means “skygoer” and may have originated in the Sanskrit khecara, a term from the Cakrasaṃvara Tantra. Dakinis are often represented as consorts in Yab-Yum representations. The masculine form of the word is daka, which is usually translated into Tibetan as pawo “hero”.

Although dakini figures appear in Hinduism and Bon, dakini occur most notably in Vajrayana Buddhism and especially Tibetan Buddhism. The khandroma, generally of volatile or wrathful temperament, acts somewhat as spiritual muse for spiritual practice. Dakinis are energetic beings in female form, evocative of the movement of energy in space. In this context, the sky or space indicates shunyata, the insubstantiality of all phenomena, which is, at the same time, the pure potentiality for all possible manifestations.
The dakini appears in a Vajrayana formulation of the Buddhist refuge formula known as the Three Roots. Sometimes she appears as the dharmapala, alongside a guru and yidam.
The dakini, in her various guises, serves as each of the Three Roots. She may be a human guru, a vajra master who transmits the Vajrayana teachings to her disciples and joins them in samaya commitments. The wisdom dakini may be a yidam, a meditational deity; female deity yogas such as Vajrayogini or Vajravarahi are common in Tibetan Buddhism. Or she may be a protector; the wisdom dakinis have special power and responsibility to protect the integrity of oral transmissions.
The archetypal dakini in Tibetan Buddhism is Yeshe Tsogyal, consort of Padmasambhava, the founder of Tibetan Buddhism. She was known to have perfected the state of Vajravarahi or Dechen Gyalmo, the Queen of Great Bliss in her wisdom state of blissful shunyata.

There are four main classes of dakini. These follow the twilight language tradition of esoteric Buddhism in referring to secret, inner, outer and outer-outer classes of dakini:
1. The secret class of dakini is Prajnaparamita (Tibetan yum chenmo), the empty nature of reality according to Mahayana doctrine.
2. The inner class of dakini is the dakini of the mandala, a meditational deity and fully enlightened Buddha who helps the practitioner recognize their own Buddhahood.
3. The outer dakini is the physical form of the dakini, attained through completion state tantra practices that work with the subtle wind energies of the subtle energetic body so that the practitioner’s body is compatible with an enlightened mind.
4. The outer-outer dakini is a dakini in human form. She is a yogini in her own right but may also be a kramamudra, or consort, of a yogi or mahasiddha.
Dakinis can also be classified according to the Trikaya, or three bodies of Buddhahood:
1. The Dharmakaya dakini, which is Samantabhadri, represents the dharmadhatu where all phenomena appear.
2. The Sambhogakaya dakinis are the energetic spirit yidams used as meditational deities for tantric sadhana practice.
3. The Nirmanakaya dakinis are human women born with special potentialities; these are realized yoginis, consorts of gurus, or even all women in general as they may be classified into the Five Buddha Families.

Do We Need A War At Our Doorstep To Make Us Compassionate ?
Prayer:
I prostate, go for Refuge, make offerings, please grant blessings. The Bodhisattva Ksitigarbha, who has unbearable compassion for me and all sentient beings (whose minds are obscure and who are suffering), who has qualities like the sky and liberates sentient beings from all the sufferings and gives all the happiness. (Recite three times.)
With hands folded in prostration, you can visualize doing the prostrations to all the Buddhas and bodhisattvas; the saying of the word “prostration” becomes prostration. When you say the word “Refuge,” think that you are asking to be free from the two obscurations (to be able to achieve enlightenment). When you say the word “offering,” you think that all the offerings that you have are then offered. When you ask for blessings, you think in your mind that the whole path to enlightenment is the blessing to be received.
Both suffer one suffer from doing the wrong things the other suffer from being attacked. For a couple of decades, our society became more and more narcissistic more focused on selfies and looking at me “ I’m doing a good thing”. Problem since now a couple of others decade that we become also spiritual narcissistic “ look at me I’m Buddhist I’m at the gompa praying “ well the truth hurt but if we are Buddha student and want to develop a bit of compassion the day you pass a homeless starving on street and think “ yeah state gonna take of him or her” that day you should start to doubt if your practice works. We all talk tones of dogma about enlightenment but if we are not able to be compassionate ones for those who suffer that the day we need to think maybe I got it wrong.
Excuse that we found “ everyone suffers” yeah that work till a bomb exploded and touch right in the face and then that become “ I Suffer I need help now”. Ukraine shows us that peace is very fragile because like in past we let some big autocratic tyrant in power. After all, we are unkind and selfish.
Spiritual Narcissism is singing mantra all day walking out of the gompa and behaving like everything is fine.
As Milarepa quote :
In front of the Lama they dance and sing in back they all betrayed each other.
