The Prajna Paramita Heart Sutra

WHEN THE BODHISATTVA AVALOKITESVARA, WAS COURSING IN THE DEEP PRAJNA PARAMITA, HE PERCEIVED THAT ALL FIVE SKANDHAS ARE EMPTY, THUS HE OVERCAME ALL ILLS AND SUFFERING.

O, SARIPUTRA, FORM DOES NOT DIFFER FROM VOIDNESS, AND VOIDNESS DOES NOT DIFFER FROM FORM. FORM IS VOIDNESS AND VOIDNESS IS FORM; THE SAME IS TURE FOR FEELING, CONCEPTION, VOLITION AND CONSCIOUSNESS.

SARIPUTRA, THE CHARACTERISTICS OF THE VOIDNESS OF ALL DHARMAS ARE NON-ARISING, NON -CEASING, NON-DEFILED, NON-PURE, NON-INCREASING, NON-DECREASING.

THEREFORE, IN THE VOID THERE IS NO FORM, FEELING, CONCEPTION, VOLITION OR CONSCIOUSNESS; NO EYE, EAR, NOSE, TONGUE, BODY OR MIND; NO FORM, SOUND, SMELL, TASTE, TOUCH, MIND-OBJECT, OR EYE REALM, UNTIL WE COME TO NO REALM OF CONSCIOUSNESS.

NO IGNORANCE AND ALSO NO ENDING OF IGNORANCE, UNTIL WE COME TO NO OLD AGE AND DEATH, AND NO ENDING OF OLD AGE AND DEATH. ALSO, THERE IS NO TRUTH OF SUFFERING, OF THE CAUSE OF SUFFERING, OF THE CESSATION OF SUFFERING, NOR OF THE PATH.

THERE IS NO WISDOM, AND THERE IS NO ATTAINMENT WHATSOEVER. BECAUSE THERE IS NOTHING TO BE ATTAINED, THE BODHISATTVA, RELYING ON PRAJNA PARAMITA, HAS NO OBSTRUCTION IN HIS MIND.

BECAUSE THERE IS NO OBSTRUCTION, HE HAS NO FEAR.

AND, THUS, HE PASSES FAR BEYOND CONFUSED IMAGINATION AND REACHES ULTIMATE NIRVANA.

THE BUDDHAS OF THE PAST, PRESENT AND FUTURE, ALSO RELYING ON THE PRAJNA PARAMITA, HAVE ATTAINED SUPREME ENLIGHTENMENT.

THEREFORE, THE PRAJNA PARAMITA IS THE GREAT MAGIC SPELL, THE GREAT SPELL OF ILLUMINATION, THE UTMOST SPELL, THE SUPREME SPELL, WHICH CAN TRULY PROTECT ONE FROM ALL SUFFERING WITHOUT FAIL.

HENCE, HE UTTERED THE SPELL OF PRAJNA PARAMITA, SAYING, , "GATE, GATE, PARAGATE, PARASAMGATE, BODHI, SVAH

"In order to cut the root of basic confusion, one should rest in the natural state without altering it.

Once one is resting in the genuine natural state, one should neither follow one's thoughts nor search for an antidote for them. If the intrinsic nature is left in its natural state, as it is said, When water is not stirred, will become clear', Just as dirty water, if not stirred, will become clear, if the nature of mind is left unaltered, as it is, deluded thoughts will automatically clear up. The natural flow of the intrinsic nature will come automatically...

Awareness will become clearer and clearer of its own accord; we don't have to force it to become so. In the practice of the Great Perfection, we first recognize the primordial nature of mind, and then become more and more experienced in recognizing it, eventually achieving complete stability in its realization."

~ from The Collected Works of Dilgo Khyentse, Volume Three

Mahavidyas

Mahavidyas (Great Wisdoms) or Dasha-Mahavidyas are a group of ten aspects of the Divine Mother Durga or Kali herself or Devi in Hinduism. The 10 Mahavidyas are Wisdom Goddesses, who represent a spectrum of feminine divinity, from horrific goddesses at one end, to the gentle at the other.

Shaktas believe, “the one Truth is sensed in ten different facets; the Divine Mother is adored and approached

as ten cosmic personalities,” the Dasa-Mahavidya (“ten-Mahavidyas”).

The Mahavidyas are considered Tantric in nature, and are usually identified as:

Kali – The ultimate form of Brahman, “Devourer of Time” (Supreme Deity of Kalikula systems).

Tara – The Goddess as Guide and Protector, or Who Saves. Who offers the ultimate knowledge which gives salvation (also known as Neel Saraswati).

Tripura Sundari (Shodashi) – The Goddess Who is “Beautiful in the Three Worlds” (Supreme Deity of Srikula systems); the “Tantric Parvati” or the “Moksha Mukta”.

Bhuvaneshvari – The Goddess as World Mother, or Whose Body is the Cosmos.

Bhairavi – The Fierce Goddess.

Chhinnamasta – The self-decapitated Goddess.

Dhumavati – The Widow Goddess,or the Goddess of death.

Bagalamukhi – The Goddess Who Paralyzes Enemies.

Dakini Time

The Dakini’s dance is not for the timid—it is for those willing to let go of all illusions and leap into the unknown.”

🔸 “She cuts through deception with a laugh, burns illusions with her gaze, and leads the brave into the fire of transformation.”

🔸 “A Dakini whispers: If you resist change, you resist life itself. Surrender to the flow, and you will soar.”

The Dakini: Wisdom Keeper, Sky Dancer, & Fierce Liberator

In Tantric Buddhism, the Dakini (Ḍākinī in Sanskrit, Khandroma in Tibetan, meaning "Sky Dancer") is a powerful figure embodying transformation, wisdom, and the raw, untamed energy of enlightenment. She is not merely a symbol—she is a living presence, appearing in dreams, visions, and deep states of meditation to guide practitioners beyond illusion and into awakening.

Types of Dakinis & Their Roles

🔹 Wisdom Dakini (Jñana Dakini) – The highest form, representing the enlightened mind. She embodies prajñā (transcendent wisdom) and leads practitioners to ultimate realization.

📿 Example: Vajrayogini, Yeshe Tsogyal, Samantabhadri.

🔹 Activity Dakini (Karma Dakini) – She embodies the power of transformation and action, guiding spiritual practice and breaking down barriers on the path.

🔥 Example: Kurukulla, the Red Dakini of magnetizing energy.

🔹 Mantra Dakini (Dharma Dakini) – She guards esoteric teachings and empowers practitioners with the ability to access deeper wisdom through mantras and visualization.

🌀 Example: Mandarava, consort of Padmasambhava.

🔹 Worldly Dakini (Mundane Dakini) – Found in the physical world, she manifests as an enlightened teacher, a challenging presence, or a mystical encounter. She tests devotion, purifies the mind, and initiates seekers into deeper wisdom.

How to Work with Dakini Energy

💨 1. Embrace Change & Let Go of Control

The Dakini energy moves like the wind—unpredictable, fierce, and freeing. She shakes loose attachments and brings sudden insight. Surrender to change rather than resist it.

🔥 2. Invoke Her Through Mantra & Visualization

Chanting Dakini mantras like:

🕉️ OM AH HUM VAJRA DAKINI HUNG

can attune your energy to her presence. Visualizing yourself as a Dancing Dakini, ablaze with wisdom fire, helps dissolve ego-based fears.

🌙 3. Meet Her in Dreams & Meditation

Dakinis often appear in lucid dreams or deep meditation. If you call upon her, she may offer direct teachings, symbols, or even challenge you—sometimes in playful, shocking, or mysterious ways.

💃 4. Embody the Dakini’s Fearless Presence

Live with boldness, joy, and wisdom. The Dakini’s dance is not just metaphorical—it is a way of being. Walk the world with wild grace, unshaken by illusion, yet deeply compassionate.

🖤 5. Work with Feminine & Sexual Energy as a Path to Awakening

Tantric Buddhism views sexual energy not as something to suppress but as a force for awakening. The Dakini transforms raw desire into higher states of consciousness.

Signs the Dakini Is Calling You

🔮 You feel drawn to the mystical, beyond rigid rules or dogma.

🔥 You experience sudden changes or "destruction" of old patterns.

💃 You feel a deep need for spiritual freedom, not just intellectual knowledge.

🌌 You receive insights or visions in dreams, especially from powerful feminine figures.

💨 You are learning to dance with both shadow and light, beyond

fear.

Dakini Ritual: A Practice to Connect with Her Energy

This practice is designed to invoke Dakini energy, embrace transformation, and awaken wisdom within. You can do this as a meditation, a movement ritual, or a combination of both.

🌙 Step 1: Set Your Sacred Space

Find a quiet place where you won’t be disturbed.

Light a red or blue candle (red symbolizes the fiery wisdom of the Dakini, blue represents space and vast awareness).

Burn incense such as sandalwood, myrrh, or palo santo to purify the space.

If you have a symbol of a Dakini (such as an image of Vajrayogini, Yeshe Tsogyal, or Kurukulla), place it on an altar.

🔥 Step 2: Enter the Dakini State (Breath & Mantra Activation)

Sit comfortably, close your eyes, and breathe deeply.

Visualize a fiery red or blue light at your heart center, expanding with each inhale.

Begin chanting the mantra:

🕉️ OM AH HUM VAJRA DAKINI HUNG

(Repeat 108 times, or as long as feels right)

Feel her presence rising within you—a force of fierce love, laughter, and wisdom breaking illusions.

💃 Step 3: The Dakini Dance (Movement & Embodiment)

Stand up and let your body move freely. The Dakini dances between form and formlessness, so allow movement to come naturally—sensual, powerful, untamed.

If you feel emotion rising, let it flow—tears, laughter, or spontaneous movements are all part of the Dakini’s gift.

Imagine your ego burning away, leaving only raw, wild presence.

🌌 Step 4: Receive Her Message (Silence & Integration)

After the dance, sit in stillness and listen. The Dakini speaks in symbols, feelings, and insights.

Ask inwardly:

“What illusion must I release?”

“What truth is ready to be revealed?”

Be open to anything—a sudden knowing, an image, or a shift in perception.

🔥 Step 5: Close with Gratitude & Offerings

Place flowers, fruit, or wine as an offering, symbolizing your surrender to wisdom and joy.

Thank the Dakini for her presence.

Blow out the candle, knowing her energy is now awakened within you.

Signs You’ve Connected with Dakini Energy

✨ Sudden insights or creative bursts.

🔥 A sense of liberation from fear, shame, or conditioning.

💃 A desire to move, dance, or express freely.

🌌 Increased synchronicities or vivid dreams.

💨 Feeling lighter, yet more powerful.

This ritual is both playful and profound—Dakini energy is never stagnant. If done regularly, it transforms perception, breaks illusions, and deepens intuition.

Dakini Invocation Prayer 🔥💃✨

O Fierce Sky Dancer, Wild and Free,

You who move between worlds with laughter and fire,

Shatter illusion, strip away fear,

Guide me through the dance of truth.

Flame of wisdom, storm of desire,

With eyes like lightning and steps like wind,

Burn away my doubts, awaken my soul,

Teach me to walk the path untamed.

O Dakini, Mother of the Void,

You who whisper in dreams and strike with clarity,

Fill my heart with fearless love,

Let me see beyond the veil of mind.

I surrender to your wisdom,

I rise with your power,

I dance with your freedom,

I burn with your fire.

OM AH HUM VAJRA DAKINI HUNG
